Matt's Fitness Progress

“If you want to know your past, look into your present conditions. If you want to know your future, look into your present actions.”
-Buddhist saying

Like improving your financial position, improving your fitness position begins with honestly and mercilessly assessing your current position. Sometimes we get in the habit of treating our bodies like a checking account that we keep writing checks out of without once looking at the balance. Unfortunately in cases of both finance and fitness ignorance is seldom ever bliss, and eventually the piper comes calling.

As I look at my baseline numbers, I get that same guilty feeling that most certainly follows the realization that you’ve over drafted on a bank account. I mean just doing the math and determining that my body contains over 37 pounds of fat (what must that look like?) is enough to make be want to skip the next breakfast doughnut, or the oh so delicious you can barely refuse it office birthday treat.  So now that I’ve taken my licks and “gotten real with myself”, the journey can begin.

The preliminary goal of my endeavor is to be at a weight of 200 pounds by the end of a years time, while at the same time having a body fat percentage that is 10% or below.
